Exemoor Cottage

Exemoor is in U.K and I have never been to U.K ; so I guess it is more in the country-side. I used a reference photo by Ray Lawrence but his photo taken on an early summer morning. I made it an early autumn morning! I am glad I am able to execute my artistic license. In the foreground, there are no sheeps in the reference photo. I bet you will see sheeps all over the place in the country-side.
I am glad I tried out landscape in watercolors this time. I have been wanting to for a long time. I just did not have the courage to execute it.
P.S: I stretched the watercolor paper over the stretcher bar and stapled at the back. I need to spray 2-3 coats of fixative and then a few coat of acrylic gloss varnish. You can learn how to create gallery wrapped watercolor here.

This painting glows, Raji. I like the addition of the sheep. They add something to the long lane, in the foreground and help to lead my eye back to the home in the background. The colors are beautiful! Perfectfor a fall post. Thank you for the tips on watercolor on canvas!
What an idyllic scene. I agree with Leslie about the addition of the sheep. Very lovely painting.
Nice painting, love the use of the autumn colors.
