Merrill Magnolia

I am very happy with this painting however the scanner did not detect the subtle difference in the blue shade for the sky and for the blue in the shadow. The sky in the original painting is actually the sky-blue unlike the ultramarine shade you see in this image.

Merrill Magnolia : Work in Progress

I am currently working on Merrill Magnolia. You must have noticed that I do not usually post work in progress pictures. I figured this wip painting will fill in the long gap between my postings. I need to do a lot of glazing. I think the background need to be more darker especially the green but I am not really sure about that until I finish the flower.

Blue Hat

It has been a while since I have posted anything. The weather is changing over here and my allergy is acting up. That explains my delay in posting.
I did this figure painting inspired by the paintings of Carol Carter (see her blog listed at the right menu). I hope to paint more figures in complementary colors and in monotones.
