Sorry for the crappy image of my latest figure drawing…but I am so excited to post it here as soon as I finished it. This is my first figure drawing on a large scale. The image size is almost around 12 by 19.5 inches; so it is bigger that what my scanner can accomodate. I will update it with a better image soon.

Portrait: Sue and Stan

with 3 comments

This is the portrait drawing of Stan and his wife Sue. Stan is my former classmate and I know him for around 17 years (gasp!). Double portrait are usually challenging  and this portraiture fits that fact. I spend a long time working on Sue compared to Stan. Stan’s thick hair drove me crazy. Now that this portrait is over, I am so relieved.

Waterlily Series No.5

with 5 comments

I add another waterlily to my series. All the waterlilies I have painted so far are pink. Four of the five flowers I painted this year are pink or have pink tone. Do I see a pattern here? Maybe I am subconsciously leaning towards pink flowers. Oh well!

Spring Harvest

with 16 comments

Spring Harvest is done as part of the Week 37-38 challenge in Karin Jurick’s DSFDF. I have done a couple of still-life vegetable paintings before but not grouped together like this. This challenge took me a long time to paint. I like how it has turned out as. It looks so fresh and crispy.

Two-toned Iris

with 4 comments

I am pretty pleased with the outcome of this painting. I decided to leave the background white to give a soft glow to the flower. I am planning to sell this one but I am having trouble to make it work. I can attribute this to starting trouble. I hope to get it done soon.

Two-tone Iris Progress

with 2 comments

I am currently working on this mauve-yellow Iris. I am pleased with the transparency effect I have achieved so far. I hope that I will get the end-result that I have on my mind.
