I am currently working on a landscape in acrylic. My computer is crashing and I am not sure if my scanner works. I hope I will be able to post my painting when I am done. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I am Back

with 5 comments

I have been busy sewing for the past two weeks which explains for my absence in the blog world. What you see in the image above are some of my sewing creations. All of them have been given away as gifts. I am participating for the current DSFDF challenge hosted by the artist Karin Jurick. I will start working on the portrait of the mystery artist that Ms.Jurick has mailed me early December. I must start this ASAP or  I will  run  out of time if I slack.

First Anniversary Celebration

with 7 comments

You are seeing my first sketch that started my one-year journey in drawing and painting. To celebrate this milestone, I offer to do a portrait in pencil drawing of yours or your loved one – only one individual either way. If you wish your identity be under wrap and is not interested in your image being displayed in this blog, do let me know! Please do know that I will be using your photo to do this. I will do it on a 9 by 12 inches heavy-weight drawing paper and will mail it anywhere in the world.

Leave a comment on this post and a way to get hold of you if your name does not link back to your blog. You are welcome to say why you love painting and what medium you like. You have until midnight Friday
April 10,2009 (Central Time Zone in U.S). The comment will be numbered as they come in. Repeated comments from the same commentor will be disregarded. Or, you can make my job easier by not posting a comment the second time. I will draw a name using  random.org to generate a random number for me.

Happy New Year!

with 2 comments

My first post in 2009 and let me start blogging this year by wishing you a Happy New Year! I am quite happy with my progress I have made last year. I have taken up drawing and painting after years and years of neglect. This is one skill that I do not want to see go wasted and lose my heart for. I hope to improve my skills through this year and many many more years to come.

My first project for this year will be a pencil drawing in a large format. I am doing this as a gift to my former classmate. I emailed my former classmates, who I keep in touch through an online network, by offering to draw a portrait of him/her or his/her loved ones. The first one to respond would be the lucky person. I did not have to wait long to get a response. Yeah I love to spoil my near and dear ones with pleasant surprises… 😀

Now the problem is I need a better surface to draw on. That means going to an art supply store. I may do that this weekend.

My Art Journal

leave a comment »

I have decided to start an art journal to nurture and expand my talent as an artist. I am a self-taught artist both in painting and drawing. The only formal education I received was a watercolor painting class that I took for a semester as a part of credit requirement for my bachelors program. I want this ability to last me a lifetime. I thank god almighty in helping me recognize and develop this skill and for that I am forever indebted in you.

P.S: Recently I have been reading articles on drawing. It seems that everyone has the ability to draw. They can improve their drawing skill overtime through consistent practise.
